Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of The Little Chapel based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
Inspiration of Scriptures
Since the Bible is the inspired Word of God, it is infallible and is superior to conscience, manifestation or revelation. The Bible shall be our infallible guide in all matters of faith and conduct since it contains all that is ever necessary as a rule for our faith and practice.
God
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Revelation
God has revealed Himself to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the Holy Scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
The Fall of Man and His Redemption
Humans, both male and female, were created good and upright in God's image for His glory, but willingly, deliberately, and by voluntary transgression, fell and lost his communion with God. His only hope of redemption is through the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised Him from the dead and now, by grace, offers eternal life as a free gift to all who follow Christ, as their Lord and Savior, by faith. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each believer born of the Spirit and cleansed by the blood is a member of the Church which is His body.
Baptism in Water
Every child of God, after repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, should at the first opportunity, be buried with the Lord in baptism, and being raised with Him should walk in newness of life. We believe that water baptism should incorporate the Name of God which is the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord's Supper
A remembrance of the broken body and shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are admonished to partake of it in remembrance of Him until He comes again.
The Baptism of the Holy Spirit
All believers are commanded to be filled with the Holy Ghost. This was the standard and normal experience of all in the early church. The Spirit should be constantly working in the church today, as evidence by the operation of the gifts of the Spirit, as well as the production of the fruits of the Spirit.
Divine Healing
Healing for the body is provided for in the Atonement at Calvary. The sick should be prayed for with the anointing oil and the laying on of hands at their request.
Resurrection
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead, and to usher in the fullness of God's Kingdom on earth.
